Bill once sent me some black nymphs, very similar to those. They worked extremely well, while they lasted.

The colors of your local trout are so beautiful. Goes well with the new hat. ;)

Ironic you mentioned Bill. Here a few knockoffs of his Stone Nymph.

The Wild Bill Stone Nymph. I will throw some at the trout tomorrow..
I tie them in Black to light Brown.

Wayne, those are brilliant. Had to enlarge the picture to get a better look and figure out the recipe. Off to the bench.

I am teaching a young man I use to work with, how to fly fish.

For a year now he has only been able to catch small Browns and Bows. Wild Bills Stone put quite a few nice to large Rainbows and Browns in his net yesterday.

Tomorrow, I am showing him how to swing soft hackles on the lower Gunnison river.

I bet the Wild Bill Stone gets tossed in to a couple deep runs! :twisted:

I can't pass up flower photos while on the river.

Dubbn, Howdy;

Do I know this place on the lower Gunnison?

Crap, just realized it's been almost 8 years, :roll:

Wayne - I’m still trying to find Bill’s old post. Found this one this evening.
