This was the first fly i ever did on a Jens Pilgarrd "Artistic" hook.....(after having first fell in love with, and used his Partridge model, the CS6JP first), so i called it Jens' Football. The bead is made of clay. The cheek feather(s) are Amhearst Phasent, and the wing is Grey Peacock. Tag is Japanese silk. The collar came from a beautiful Guinea skin i got from Christina at Chevron Hackle in England when i was there doing this show in '09, ( http://www.thespringflyfishingshow.com ) for Steve Thornton. What a great experience that was.....Thankx Steve. ;) My table was right near where Jens was set up.....and there were 10K patrons come through that place over the course of the show............WOW! My wife and i had 25 people in front of us at all times................boy was that intense and WAY BIG FUN! :D.....     just realized i posted this fly twice..... :D

Fly i did at this year's (2010) Sowbug Roundup in Mt. Home, Arkansas. The Sowbug (3 days, WELL over 100 tyers) is the third Thurs./Fri./& Sat. in March.....the 17th, 18th & 19th for 2011. It IS undoubtedly, THE biggest fly tying show in the world now. One year we had 146 tyers. Misako and i went down to do our first "Bug" in 2004, and ended up moving there in.....well, we bought the house in May of '07 and we're still moving in. It's a work in progress.....that's my story and i'm stickin' to it. :D That pic is a bit fuzzy..... tag is some dark tinsel.....the tail is Orange PB.....couple colors of Ostrich herl in the butt.....palmered hackle.....2 or 3 feathers in the collar. :P

Mark - If I had to pick a favorite it would be the squiggly on on the forth page (the one tyed on the special Jens Pilgaard artistic hook). It looks like a Doctor Seuss character (sincere compliment). Pure art!
