Great looking fly! I like the combination of black ice dub with the starting hackle.

That is the type of pattern that is always in my fly box! 16 and under in that color, and many other color combinations, for me is a winning combination. Year round.
To copy, I would have to use Black hen or Black Mole as I do not have starling anymore.

Small starling hackles with various thread colors and a little peacock herl can make quite a few very nice (and effective) fly dressings.

My most productive flies #18 and smaller(outside of BWO hatches) are tied with either Black or $3 Dip Rust Brown thread.
