Hi Folks,

Been a while since I visited or posted. We moved to Auckland NZ fr OZ last Dec to start a dream job. Interesting times some good some not so good. Were currently undergoing a min 4week Covid-19 self isolation with all non essential services closed

What better to do than tie...

I really miss Bill atm and felt inspired to tie flies that he was such a master at. He was an inspiration to many of us and a good friend. These aren't particular patterns tied to recipe's they're just simple ties from the heart thinking of all I learnt from a dear friend and trying to capture some of the nuances he was a master at. K

Welcome home Karsten. I’ve been wondering how you are doing mate. Congratulations on the new job, and the big move. Exciting and scary at the same time. This whole COVID related isolation stuff is surreal. I’ve been working from home now for three weeks. Spending most of the time in one room. My tying room, has also become my home office (only area I could set up a desk with work computer properly). It gets sort of claustrophobic at times.

Fortunately I was still able to relax yesterday and while tying flies.

I too miss Bill, and think of him often. Seeing your set of flies is a treat. Bill would have loved seeing these. Well done my friend.

Hi Karsten,

Life without Bill isn't the same. Visiting the forum isn't the same either, due to our loss. Don't take this wrong now, but he was a source of wit and inspiration that is lacking very much in my life now. We all have a lot of friends here, but he was very special. Your flies are Shuckish.

Great tying Karsten.
I'd be confident fishing any of those flies in larger water.
They're true to type and it's good to see the colour bleeding through in the bodies.

Excellent, Karsten. Loved them when I saw them on FB, but now that I see them on the bigger screen, they are stunning. Like Carl, I am drawn to that one with the yellow rib.
