i like to use whole feathers or sections thereof, and or tail sections and use them for tails and wings. It's very challanging and very rewarding. The reason most of my flies are quite large is because they are paintings more than flies. And little itsy bitsy paintings are.....well, let's just say.....not much of a canvas for expression. Although i spose if you had a microscope, you could find a world of possibilities. There are those who do amazing things on VERY small hooks.....but that seems to work better (get the results) when it comes to fishing..........for fish, lol. :D

This is on a Ronn Lucas Sr. hook..... Noble S 5/0. Hook is painted brown.....as far as i can tell, it's a powder coating paint job. They come out great! The bead in this dressing also came from Ronn. ;) He's the MASTER. 8-)

This is on a Lucas hook.....a red Noble S 5/0, and it has a red Gamakatsu trailer attached. i just fell in love with this bead, which is the ONLY reason for the red/white/& blue color combo. Wing is PB. ;)

This dressing has a Stone Bead in it.....you find some really incredable stone beads in different shops around the country. That's Japanese stained gut for the eye. ;)
