Red Rum (howling at the moon)
Red Rum
Hook - Daiichi Model 1710 (Size 14)
Thread - 8/0 UNI-Thread (Camel)
Hackle - Hungarian Partridge (Natural Gray)
Rib - Fine Gold Wire/Ultra Wire/Size SM
Abdomen - Pheasant Tail Fibers (Dyed Blood Red)
Thorax - Werewolf Tups Blend (tups wool blend with strands of walnut yarn)
Legs - Six Pheasant Tail Tips (pulled up and back)
This is my Halloween submission. The name is a reference to the movie "The Shining".
The photo does not do the colors justice. The red abdomen and leg fibers really look cool.
Happy Halloween!

Cool Fly but you had better not knock on the front door and yell "Honey, I'm home!".

Ray,
A little more on that werewolf thorax.
Is that a Paul Beel Frankendub (FrankenFly) blend or just a creation of your magic fingers?
Either way, that looks like it would come alive the moment it hit the water.
I like it.

Ron -
Rick - This is my own crazy dubbing blend. Part Valla’s Tups wool dubbing blend, mixed with longer stands of Wool Ease Yarn Dubbing (Walnut/127) multicolored yarn. The fibers of the dubbing blend were touch-dubbed onto well waxed tying thread, then wrapped forward over the thorax region. Fibers end up creating a fuzzy (furry) halo around the abdomen. I dig the scruffy look, and am hopeful that it will catch fish.

Really nice, Ray. Love the scruffy look the longer yarn strands make. I'd bet money on it being a fish catcher.

Wow Ray!
How can this pattern not be a killer (murderer)? It is gorgeous and I like the long guard hairs on the abdomen! Yea, it's a go! Have you fished it yet?
Doug's Baaaack!
(Ron, that pic is a classic! It fits right in!)

Fish when you can, not when you should! Anything short of this is just a disaster.
