DUBBN, i hope you enjoy this one... ;)

Hook-Mustad 9672 #10
Thread-Black Monocord
Body- Muskrat dubbing blended with Trilobal Nylon
Hackle-Guinea Hen
Head-Peacock Herl

This is a variation tied in the round of 2 of my old favorite plain Muskrat nymphs from Jack Dennis and Poly Rosborough. I used peacock instead of the Black Ostrich for a little more flash on the head. I know this will be a producer for me out in my float tube on a lake or on deeper river frog water with a sink tip or full sinking line.

Everything about this patten "POPS".

I am positive it will be a fish magnet when the Caddis are out and about.

I am going to incorporate you dubbing technique in to some of my own patterns. Well done!

It immediately makes me think damsel nymph. Wonderful pattern Bill. I may have a new favorite. ;)

What color is the blending fibers?

Ray,

You know you started this with your Frayed knot post.

The thickness of the dubbing twisted in a loop for this fly was more my style for Dragon Nymph or caddis. But you prompt me to blend some olive rabbit for a green damsel. ;)

The color was named "Super Bright" by TurboFluffed Creations. Basically it is the clear (white) fiber that LaFontaine insisted was the key to having the right Antron attraction for his Caddis creations. This is not to be confused with the "Undyed Firestar" that I bought from Knitspin that looks like a twin. I see myself busy with some dying at Camp Roadkill this summer making some more color blends.

I wish the Bling had shown better in the pic. My wife is a crafty , quilter type lady. She knew about Trilobal, and said she had some. What she gave me is what I used as a blend with the Muskrat and as a small collar.

I photographed both sides. One is upside down.

DUBBN,
That is a beautiful fly!!

I know what you mean about trying to capture the sparkle in the nylon. My little point and shoot gathers too much light and bleeds out the flash in the trilobal to all the dubbing. I tried to capture it yesterday when I put the dubbing in a loop to tie the Rabbit Bling SH.

Another way to tie it is to use the trilobal as an underwing.

Wayne - The silvery color of the body reminds me of a waterbug (diving skater bugs). Reminiscent of the silvery air bubble I've seen in some pics. Really nice pattern, btw. Can't wait to hear field reports. ;)
