Vixen and Hare Flymph
Played around with some dubbing blends today. This one I really liked. Stained vixen coyote underfur and hare's cheek 2:1. Has that tups-like look to it. Tied it with primrose silk and grizzly dyed dun.

I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Beautiful!
Is the Primrose waxed. it has a slight mint shade to it on my screen?

Hi Carl,
This pattern is wickedly beautiful and so simple! The dubbing is such a wonderful lite pink blend! Your tying method is spot on as always which culminates in a pattern like no other! Thanks for creating it and sharing with us!

That is a gorgeous fly, Sir. Calling it sublime wouldn't be a stretch.
I must have the same computer as Roadkill, I get the same hint of yellow/green. ...I'm not not complaining, I'm just saying the fly reminds me of the Creamsicle's from my youth bookended with a touch of pistachio. Genius.

Mike - I love your description of the colors. An evocative description, that brings back happy memories. I smiled as I read it.

Re: Vixen and Hare Flymph
Hey, thanks guys for the comments. I appreciate it.
I goofed. I was mixing different materials and some how got fox stuck in my head. The dubbing is pink vixen coyote (not fox..I edited the original post) and hare's cheek.
I noticed the color of the thread too. I didn't wax the thread and I think the tone is coming from my lighting off the silk. that and the fact I had too shallow depth of field and the head is a little out of focus.
