Found this in Rob Smith's book. It is from The Contemplative and Practical Angler written by Joseph Wells 1842. The Wharfdale list. Found it interesting. A simple pattern calling for a Magpie Herl head, Starling under covert feather, and a white silk body.

The hackle appears to already moving on it's own. Very lively looking pattern.

I like your hook choice. The bright hook, under the white silk body should be ultra translucent.

Cracking good fly, Tom. Must try a few myself. Maybe the Wharfdale flies will work well on the Piscataquis.
