Nice looking fly dressing. Next to Golden Plover, I think Woodcock and Red Grouse hackles make great looking flies with various colored silk bodies with / without dubbings.

Beauty. Woodcock is definitely one of my favorite soft hackles to work with.

Tom,
I love the way the moderately bright yellow dubbing (my interpretation) contrasts with the beautiful, yet much darker woodcock! It's these hard contrasts that make good fish catchers! I am also loving the short and well dubbed body and general shape of it! I strive for these looks in my tying but fail miserably most of the time! Your offering is what I like to see and you did really well with it!
Great job friend!

Great looking fly mate. I will tie a few myself, my only change will be a white underbody, ok, I admit to using while uni-stretch. I might try a few on some gold plated hooks. Yep, not trad. but they are a homage to a great old gentleman who I guided some years ago who only used gold plated hooks. If anyone wants more info on this gentleman let me know and I’ll state my reason.
