My attempt at a Wynn's Orange Partridge. Lacking red tinsel I subbed silver.

Hook Daiichi 1480 size 12.
Silk. Orange 6a.
Body. Orange.
Hackle. Partridge dark.
Head. Peacock Herl.
Eyes. Tinsel metal.

I've never attempted one of the patterns with tinsel at the head. What exactly is the technique Tom?

I struggled with it at first using Mylar tinsel. I could not get it. I had to use metal tinsel which I much prefer anyways. First thing on the hook is the peacock Herl tied off at the rear. Then a preformed loop of tinsel is attached the ends on top of the hook. The loop under the eye.The Hackle is attached next .The silk body is formed and then the Hackle is wound and tied off rear of the Hackle..

Tom,

Do you get Esopus Ed’s fishing newsletter? He recently mentioned how effective an P&O is for the Catskills caddis.

He shared this photo as proof.
