Gosh, that is a pretty fishing fly.

I’m digging the addition of the UV Shrimp dubbing. I’m already planning to copy your pattern.

DD, most of what I post here are proven baits that I fish on my home water (the testing grounds). I'm lucky because I live beside the river &, fishing/guiding, I get to spend about 150 days a year (or more) on the water, which gives me a lot of opportunity to observe, absorb, & experiment. The upper Columbia is not rich in insect species, but what we do have come off in great numbers, & usually late in the day under low-light conditions. You're competing with a bazillion naturals so you want a fly the right size & profile but with coloration that stands out just enough to be attractive, yet not intrusive. This one loses much of its flash when wet, the floss darkening & turning semi-transparent, blending with the body. I've tied & fished a lot of MB versions over the years & always looking for a better one. This is the one I'm fishing nowadays.

Ray, stubborn about changes, I was reticent to try UV materials until Rod Zavaduc convinced me to try the UV Shrimp Dub applied to my dressings. Now I'm a believer. UV Shrimp Pink is the secret sauce. Be conservative, a little goes a long way.
