those are some loooong mole fibers - must be the Maryland sub- specie!!

That is a magnified view (macro photo cropped and re-sized) and the fibers were touch dubbed, so you are seeing nearly their entire length in some cases.
Also, the skin came from Veniard, so it's probably an English mole. Don't know if that makes any difference.
