Olives

Tying up some olives yesterday. As usual, the tying session starts with some established patterns then transgresses into experimentation usually after I find a material in my drawer that I haven't seen in a while. Yesterday it was Hends Body Quill. A very fine spooled tinsel that is made of 3 fine strands of different shades. The first 2, the Hends is wrapped over primrose thread and red tinsel, muting the tinsel a bit and making an olive color over the thread. Medium dun hen hackle. The second one is a little darker due to a well waxed thread. The third experimentation, I really like the way it turned out. I touched dubbed some primrose thread with natural mole and then twisted that with the Hends. Jackdaw hackle.
