Woodcock and Fox Flymph

So I have been mildly obsessed for the past couple years with two things in particular. One being the woodcock hackles and the other is red fox underfur. I have collected patches and sections and masks and snipped and teased areas to create textures and shades. Absolutely geeking out with these dubbing blends. One of my favorites has been the creamy underfur found behind the ears of a red fox mask mixed with natural seals fur. It is likely part of my fear of being caught on the stream without a tan caddis flymph, but I fished this pattern as tied below to a Hendrickson hatch a week ago in Pa and did well. I even landed a sweet double as I was landing a beautiful 11"-12" brown on the dropper when it's identical twin took the same pattern on the point.
Those things leave a particularly sweet taste.
This is pale red fox in a split thread of brown Griffith's 14/0, no rib.
This with a tinsel rib.
And this with a cdc underwing.
And this with the natural seal blended with the red fox on a chunkier hook.

Great flies and photos William.
If I picked a favourite, it'd be the last. Woodcock, seal and fox.
That shorter shank and stronger hook cry out Pick Me! in
There's beautiful gold in your woodcock too. That looks far closer to plover (as already mentioned) than the brown woodcock we buy here. Those flies would be a thrill to catch fish on.

Holy Cow William!
These beautiful patterns are the refinement of your art! So beautiful and so buggy! Please lovingly place them above and slightly to one side of a hungry trout! We will be listening for your war hoop!

Man those are pretty! Somehow wildly buggy and perfection at the same time.
Confidence pattern for sure...
