Hare's Ear Brahma Flymph

Another plucked from the wallet. This body is a blend of hare's ear that I sometimes spin over ash silk for Hendrickson flymphs, but in this case it is touch dubbed to a loop on the brown 14/0 Griffiths thread. The Brahma saddle hackle is what Whiting calls March Brown. It's a nice combination with the orange silk. I like the tails on this one. I don't know if it fishes any different with or without, but sometimes they're pretty.

Looks like a nice March brown imitation. I love the look of the orange rib. Nice touch.

Yet another winner That Brahma looks almost like neck-area plover.

A nice looking fly William.
Why did you choose the up-eye hook and how do you find fishing them?

Great looking fly and I like the look of the Brahma hackle and tail - looks to me like a yellow tinted grouse or woodcock feather.

. . . you choose the up-eye . . .
Yeah, what's the secret up-eyed hook with the inviting, fat gap(e)?

Yea this is really nice. I have always had trouble tying hackles with a eye like that if it's just a slight upward angle I don't have so much of an issue but with one like this I would. I like the look of the upward hook and someone from this site sent me hooks in this style a while back. Every now and again I pick one up and see what my brain comes up with. I have not been happy with one yet but I will never stop and when I finally crack that code I'll post it. Really nice job on this type of hook just impressive.

William,
As always, you tie the most inviting looking patterns and this one is no exception! Every component is carefully chosen and masterfully applied! This one just screams "March Brown"!! I can only imagine the trout you are going to connect with when this one hits the water!
Just down-right cool looking stuff William,
Doug
