Thanks Ray. As usual, crappy foto, tho. I'd post more if I could get decent fotos... but this one proved a worthwhile getter this past season, so.

After checking out your latest work, I want to try a version of this with yellow ostrich as thorax. Need to get some. In a bunch of colors.

Best

That's a really nice twist. Such a great technique for getting subtle tones and textures. Nice fly.

William, complete agreement.

Great approach that provides quick/easy 'guide' flies that actually kill. This one covers both isoperla stonefly & a yellow pale evening dun, where I fish.

We share a penchant for twisted bodies...

Ron, I'm not sure what the law is regarding tying a fly with the feathers of a suicidal songbird. But, lest the forum members begin loading their BB guns & entertaining thoughts of going hunting out by the bird feeder, I hasten to allow that feathers from the pet canary or parrot, or yellow-dyed hen, are fine substitutes for the grosbeak.

Now I'm waiting for a knock on the door...

Steve

Maybe the person knocking would say, "nice looking fly".
