Hi Ray,
Nice fly. Let us know if you catch anything with it. You use quite a lot of bleached stuf. I cannot buy it here in Europe or do you bleache it yourself??
Greeting
Ruard

Ruard - I bought the partridge from Orvis, and the peacock from a store called JoAnne Fabrics. The materials were already processed to be this ginger/tan color. Now that I think about it, I believe they would use hydrogen peroxide, not bleach to achieve this color. Peroxide is sometime used to lighten a ladies hair.

Great looking pattern Ray. I like the choice of hook as well.

That matches up real well, Ray. Nicely done, as always.

Ray,
I think I would also tie some up in an emerger stage with a tail...
Here is my quick #14, light yellow and tan Merino Wool body, Hen hackled version of your bug with a Antron shuck.
I'll have to keep an eye out for some of that Ginger Partridge.

Beautiful fly Bill. What hook did you use? It has a surprisingly wide gap for a size 14 hook. Very nice.

Ray,
I tied it on a Dai Riki 070 #14. As my old supply of Mustad 3906s runs out, this Dai Riki is my chosen nymph replacement.
