Very fetching, w. The goose herl does do a decent job of impersonating heron and woodcock is one of those feathers that it's hard not to like.

Oh my! That's a great pattern. I'm thinking this would be a nice march brown imitation.

Thanks guys. I have such confidence in these herl bodied spiders, both imitative and attractive and the action and the texture and the tone blends...I love em. I just need hours to drown them and as soon as possible. Drowned and chewed, and makes me happy. :D

And this is a decent shot, but my photography needs an upgrade, not for sharing pattens online, I'm excited by Wayne's phone camera shots, not to mention his sharp new "rock pics", but that anyone can share what they are tying and the fun of exploring new materials is exciting and every pic is very much appreciated as always - a tangent, but I have been stuck at this level for a few years, trying to be consistent for comparison's sake, but I think I want something fresh. We'll see. This has an unimaginable amount of light pumped into every fiber. It shouldn't be so tough.

Agreed, a good heron substitute. I like herl bodies. They are easy to work with and the colors and textures available are very diverse. You are one of the best at working with this material William. Always good at getting different textures and combinations of color and texture.

I like my photographic tile, but I too have been in search for a couple more environments to work in. I truly like photographing outside in natural light and shadows. I have done some flies in this medium and can't wait until the weather is nicer to explore this more.
