Out of Bergman's Trout. Just for fun.

Trying to get a little life back in the forum. Been kind of dead lately.

Old/New Hat, Howdy;

Not familiar with Critchley, is that the pom-pom lookin' part at the front???

Extremely attractive fly, well put together and just like a nursery schooler
"Here ... plop ... what-cha think ????" ;)

I assume Critchley is the name of the inventor Hank. Don't know anything about it other that it is one of the "fancy" wingless wet patterns found in Trout.

What can you tell us about this pattern? I am not familiar with it. Beautifully tied. Is that tied on a Mustad 3666?

Oops. Our posts crossed in the ether-net. :D

The hook is a old Pennel Limerick. Don't know the number. I like the sharp limerick look with slip tails.

Nice hook!

The Limerick bend and the large barb made me think it was an old Mustad. The model 3666 are getting to be as rare as hens teeth...

One of the rarer breed to be sure. There are not too many Trout sized wingless wet's that call for a hackle of two different feathers.

Did you use two quill slips for the tail, or just a single?
What material did you choose for the body?

Two quill slips for the tail Jeff, and the body is a kid mohair yarn.
