Hackle: Whiting Farms Coq de leon hen, medium pardo
Body: Canada Goose flight quill, single barb

Black, Red or Gray are the colors I prefer to use this time of the year to imitate the midge larva, pupa and emergers. Other colors like Olive, Brown, or pale Yellow work at times, but Black, Red and Gray get the lions share of the work from me. I start at size 18 and work down if needed. The Canada Midge would be effective on my local Tail waters, and Freestone rivers.

Great technique and photography as always.

P.S.

Even though it has no tail? It would pull double duty as a baetis nymph/emerger if I were fishing it.
