Very slick, sleek and slender..... everything a spider should be.
The slimness of the dressing almost makes the B 175 look overpowering. They are a nice hook though!

I love spiders. That's what brought me to this site years ago. Now we have few spiders.

Hello Hans, Can you explain how you've tied this pattern?
- Is there one or two layers of krystal flash?
- Why are there bumps when I try to tie that material but no bumps in yours?
- Where is the tail tied in?
- How many wraps of hackle?
- Where have the tie-ins disappeared to??

Thanks for asking

As you say, the 'trick' is all about minimizing visible bulk, leaving the entire body level, free of bumps.

Here goes:

Thread/hackle as step 1 Secure with three turns, snip stem/tag.
Tail as step 2
KF as step 3
Tail and KF tie-down all in area to be covered by the hackle turns later. Thread remains there.
Wrap KF to bend, taking tail barbs along in the process, and then return KF back to close to eye. Tie off, trim.
Cover the 'mess' with three turns of hackle, trap and cut through to eye in a half-turn and whip finish.
