Skimpy Skimpy
It has been a while since I've had access to all the things necessary to post a pic. Things are not much better but I was able to get some shots and upload a few. Many more to come. These I tied in May before Roscoe. I have no doubt after seeing John Shaner's collection, my tying will shift a bit. But I was in a rather sparse mood and wanted to push the theory of hackle action a bit.
Blackbird, Alec Jackson #15 and black 14/0 (no recipes necessary)
Partridge Spider, Vintage Mustad #14, black 14/0
Grizzly Spider, Vintage Mustad #14, black 14/0
Partridge and Beaver, Vintage Mustad #14, black 14/0
I tied a pile of Stewart spiders prior to the trip and they never actually came into play as the Sulphurs and March Browns were being taken. Maybe these will get a swing this week on the Gun Powder. Here's hoping.

I agree with Ray!

William,
Excellent work as always! I really admire the entire set although the very last one has to be my favorite! Wait until you soak that one (and all of them) in your favorite waters! I am just fascinated with your tying and your fishing and your approach to life William. Did I hear you mention that there is more of these beauties yet to post? Please say it's so!
Can't wait to see them!

Fish when you can, not when you should! Anything short of this is just a disaster.

Blackbird? Who did you beg, borrow or steal that off?
I do like the way you captured the blackbird in your photo, shows the nature of the feather very well. Soft and I imagine delicate.
Great looking minimalist set on some nice looking hook selections.
Well done.

Sweet, William.
Would you call these dressings, or undressings?
Good to see you posting pix again.

If I were a betting man, I'd wager that any of these four flies would fish as well as any "hatch matching" pattern you have in your box--better, even, the more rough-and-tumble the stream.I tied a pile of Stewart spiders prior to the trip and they never actually came into play as the Sulphurs and March Browns were being taken.

Re: Skimpy Skimpy
Thank you everyone for your generous comments. I started tying a couple tinsel bodied spiders following lances lead...weeks ago now, and realized with the AJ hooks I was wrapping bling over bling...so I omitted the tinsel. I stayed on a mix between Stewart style spiders and very lively flymphs when I could get to the vise. I'll get some pics of other flies around. I know these should work I'm theory, but it will be better to make them
