Thread: Benecchi 12/0, black
Hackle: Brown partridge
Rib: Holographic tinsel, gold, graduated
Abdomen: Argentinean hare, medium grey
Thorax: Aftershaft from the base of the hackle feather
Wing: Tip of thorax aftershaft

Hans, did you tie in the philoplume on the stem or did you cut the fibers off the stem. or did you find the spot where the feather transitions? Its a nice pattern. Makes for a nice caddis emerger or diver I would imagine. It's hard to beat partridge.

William,

The philoplume was pulled off feather at start, and put aside.

After hackle was tied in (first), and then ribbed abdomen formed. Philoplume is tied in by butt, then twisted around the tying thread to strengthen, make more durable. Wrap philoplume/thread towards eye. Untangle thread from tip of philoplume, and optionally have the tip form a slender wing. Wrap hackle and finish fly.
