Just something I threw together for some stillwater action coming up. It doesn't have a name yet, I couldn't come up with a good one. Any ideas?

COOL! I can't help you on the name, but I love the look of this fly. Looks like a killer damsel imitation.

Isn't that baby bug wrap material great? I've got every color of that stuff that the Mad Scientist makes. It makes wonderful body material. It also makes great extended furled body flies. The Mad Scientist recently came out with two new tiny sizes of the leg material (mini & micro legs alive). I ordered a set to play around with, but it hasn't come in yet.

Hmm, not bad. Thing is though I have other colors I am going to tie these up in. I didn't think of really using this for a Damsel imitation, I would probably change the hackle to Olive though if I was going to (which I will )

Edit: I love this bug wrap stuff. I have some of the smaller stuff and I like it as well. It has so many uses. Did you know if you pull it tight, then clip it, it will fray? Makes some killer beetle legs.

I agree with the damsel interpretation. That was the first thing I thought when I saw it- even before I read the replies. I bet this would kill for bass and bream around the cattails and reeds in some of our ponds here in Maryland. I'm going to tie and try some this summer! The variegation in the abdomen is awesome-nice tie!

Sweet, if you need help figuring out how to tie in and twist the bug body, let me know. It isn't too hard, but there are several ways to do it and other ways are harder than others.

I am going to have to give this a try for bass.
