Here is an olive spider I tied to fish for BWOs or midges.
Hook-Cabelas Model 25 #18 scud hook
Thread Benecchi 12/0 olive
Body- Tying thread to just cover a couple of strands of Olive Krystal Flash
Hackle- originally light blue dun Metz hen saddle (but Gambel's Quail for the replacement in photo #2), tied in by the tip, twisted around the tying thread and wrapped around the shank.

RK,
Awesome flies.
Better invest in a bigger creel.

Me too! Dandy little spiders.
gingerdun - That is the best compliment I've read. It reminds me of the line from the original Jaws movie "I think we are going to need a bigger boat..."

Thanks everyone, no creel necessary but a new bigger catch and release net did cross my mind a week ago after a couple of days fishing the pattern and sharing my original supply with a couple of friends.

It's a good simple design. I've used very similar in N. Georgia and N.C with good success. I believe the little flash at the end makes a difference. Don't know how or why, it just does.

My idea was it is the suggestion of a stuck in the shuck cripple. It has been very productive trailing behind a BH Woolly Bugger near the bottom of the Owhyee when nothing is happening on top.
