I think I have dialed in my photography skill enough to show you a Red PT Soft Hackle I have been tying. I have not used it yet, but plan to this Summer. Red has given me some headaches, but here it goes.

Hook- Mustad 3906 size 12
Thread - 8/0 Uni-Thread Red
Tail - Red Pheasant Tail
Abdomen - Red Pheasant Tail
Rib - Red Copper Wire Xsmall
Thorax - Peacock Herl
Collar - Light Brown Hen Hackle

Heres it's little cousin. A PT Nymph Red. I have used this pattern for about 4 years now. It is a knock off of a Red PT tyed by Charlie Craven, a pretty dang good Colorado Tyer .

I dont carry alot of these. Maybe 4 or 5 at the most. This pattern does extremely well for me about the time the rivers become gin clear after Spring runoff.

Dubbn, I would say the pics are really coming along. These certainly highlight the fine tying and the pattern construction. I've tied a few of these a couple years ago but never found the occassion to use them. (The nymphs, not the softie version.) Looking forward to hearing how they are working out for you. I was smitten by Charlie's pattern as well.

Great flies.

Got to love the contrast shown in your soft hackle photo, there is true definition between the materials. The nymph should also have that stand out "come eat me" colouration in the water.
Nice ties and great photos.
