Hi,
Another pattern of mine of small trout speys I’m filling some empty box slots with.
I tend to tie these flies a little on the petite side for the hook used, I feel they fish better.

Hook; Daichi 1150 sizes 14-16
Body; 2 strands each of root beer and peacock crystal flash, twisted and wrapped tightly
Thorax; My home brew dubbing mix of otter and UV pearl ice dub
Hackle; Grouse covert wing feather
Thread; Veevus 14/0 fluorescent orange also tied as a small hot spot at the head

Very nice. The thorax, otter under fur or do you include some guard hairs? That's a lot of stuff that looks like food on a small hook. Nicely done.

Hi Ron,
Thanks! There are guard hairs in the mix, they can be difficult to see. I can see a couple in the photo.

Bob - Absolutely gorgeous dressing. A modern twist to wingless wet fly/spider. Kudos.

Our friend Steve Bird would love this one.

Nicely done, such a plump morsel on a small hook.

Thanks again fellas !
I wasn’t sure and debated whether I should post anything made of newer materials or different takes (perspectives) of wet/soft hackle flies.
I’m new here and don’t want to upset or offend anyone by posting anything that is seen to be outside the intent/vein of the forum.

Thanks again,
Bob
