Idk what it is bit I thought it would look awesome if I took frank sawyers dressing for his bowtie buzzer and made it the body of a soft hackle.

You won't be getting any complaints from me. It's a beautiful looking fly. Good for you to reach for the bleachers or think out of the box like you did.

Fly tying is only limited to your imagination.

Thanks guys! I think it looks pretty cool but I'm hoping the under layer of silver will do as Sawyer intended and give an illusion of translucency and gas layer. We shall see.

If it is not a Chironomid I do not worry about gasses. Your pattern does not need them.

Wait...is that not what aids a lot of nymphs in making its way to the surface, the gasses that form between the nymphal skin layers? Is this not why the spun bodies in flymphs that trap tiny air bubbles are so important? Sorry I not a bug guy but I'm slowly learning.
