Peacock, Guinea, & Ostrich

Post by Roadkill » Mon Aug 29, 2022 4:49 pm

With all the recent Peacock activity I thought i would bump up this old pattern of mine, but it was faster to tie some new ones rather than wade through the unrelated Search findings to see if the old post still had a picture. :?
No doubt it was lost on one of the old servers.

Hook- 3X long nymph
Thread- Black 3/0 Monocord
Body-about 6-8 Peacock herls twisted around the thread
Hackle-Guinea Hen
Head-Black Ostrich

This has proven to be a great lake fly for me. :)

Nice fly! Reminds me a little of Nemes Mother's Day Caddis pattern.

Now that you say that, I do see the resemblance.
