Debutante

I saw this pattern in the Summer 2022 issue of Fly Tyer magazine. The article on Flies of Cody Country starts on page 46 and the fly is pictured on page 52, with other flies for stillwater fishing. Our Sep trip this year will take us to Saratoga and Cody, WY, so I thought I would tie a few to try as we plan to fish some lakes.

Debutante
Hook: Partridge L2A/D (Wet) - Size 10
Thread: UNI 8/0 - Olive
Tail: Flashabou - Olive and Marabou - Burnt Golden Tan
Tag/Rib: Ultra Wire (Small) - Amber
Abdomen: Marabou (Wrapped around hook)
Thorax: Peacock Herl
Hackle: Partridge (Brown)
Head Cement: Orvis (Water Base)

Hopefully, I will be reporting later about its effectiveness.

I think Harry Murray ties a similar nymph pattern.

Looks extremely effective. Have a safe trip and I look forward to hearing how you do when you get back.
