i had never saw the bead that way..........but i can see it now that you mentioned it...........i might of tyed a completely different type of thing if i'd seen it that way.............but, since i didn't.................and your right, it was a lotta fun! Tkx.

Just finished (including first two coats) another one.
Hook: Jens Pilgaard Spey 6/0
Thread: Danville 6/0 Primrose
Tag: red braid, copper braid
Tail: Peacock slips, Claret Rhea, GP Crest, dyed Mallard
Bead: wooden
Body: hand blended Tri-Lobal dubbing, dark brown, orange and black
Ribbing: Uni Gold Braid 8-ply small
Wing: Claret Rhea
Collars: Firey Brown schllapen and Black rooster.....pic to follow asap.....

Looks like i may need to do a thumb nail number on the head again, and give it another coat........... ...........no biggie. .....i like the way the wing came out on this one.........VERY Speyish..... ........and Bill, since you apparently missed the previous fly.....just so you can make a comparison.

Of these two, I much prefer the Fudge Brownie Spey. Given the tension created by the tangent angles, plus the color adjuncts and well-spaced knocker ribs, it's now become obvious that we need to formulate a plan to better allocate our native resources, mainly zinc.

Oops, I forgot the bourbon, sorry. Yes, definitely there would be some bourbon sipping going on too. The fly should be in a place it can be studied, and admired. I see a fireplace, and a lot of dark colored wood. I think it would be perfect in a room just like that.

Thankx everyone.........i'm beginning to realize more & more that when you don't say anything.....you got nothin' good to say......... my Mom used to give me that adivse.......... and it's good advice.
Kelly, you just described The Anglers Club in lower Manhattan/N.Y.C.
We've been there for a TGF dinner once.......it's an UNREAL place to visit. Theodore Gordon flies, Halford's flies, and on and on and on and on..........the only other (than ours) framed copy of A Grey Knights Tale, i ever saw was there as well. Ours is here in our cave, The Swallows Nest. Every American (and otherwise) Fly Fisher should visit there sometime. Although the only way you can get in is as a guest or a member, and you can't become a member without someone who already is, nominating you. Not to mention if your not a rich lawyer, politician, statesman, some kinna so&so or whatever.........you can forget about it. But, you can become a member of TGF, and attend their annual dinner there for $100. and have a chance to see the place. It's AMAZING. It's way down below Wall St. upstairs in a building that's probably 250 yrs. old.....has a resturant and bar and library and allllllllllllllllllllllll kinds of flies and paintings and famous memorbilia allllllllllllll over the place.
It's worth a membership & the $100. just to get in there one time.
