:) .......talk about "in a word".........and that word was still around back bout that time.....i mean we'd just come outta the 70's..........the 80's in N.Y.C. were the very BEST time ever..............Harlem, Spanish Harlem, the Bronx, Alphabet City, the Lower East Side, Chelse, So Ho, No Ho, the Village, the East Village.....didn't matter where you went.........all the neighborhoods were cool..........long as you knew what time it was............when i was drivin' a cab......i'd work Harlem every Sun. morning, taking people back and forth to church..........they was all dressed up and tippin' GOOD! :D Safest place in N.Y. on a Sun. morning. 8-) i drove cab for exatly 53 weeks to the day, shortly after i first got to town in Sept. '81.....from late Feb. of 1982 thru Feb. of '83. My first cab was a Checker w/ the jump seats in the back..........Boy, Bass players and drummers loved them things..... The very next day after i guit drivin' cab, i went on the road with the Messengers for the next 7 years. But i got one hell of an education bout N.Y.C. in that 53 weeks. BAlieve me. Got to know all five Bouroughs too. City so nice thay hadda name it twice. :P Tkx. Ray..... ;)

Your very welcome and thank YOU. ;)

Today we had the kids again.....teaching tyin' from 9 a.m. til noon.....then they have lunch.....then they're sposed to fish from 1 to 4 p.m., but a handful decided they'd rather keep tyin' instead of fish.........so i stayed late with them and let them tye whatever they wanted to tye.....using any of the materials we had there..........boy they were commin' up with allllll sorts of stuff and havin' a ball. Once they had learned to fold and wrap hackle pretty well.............they were off and runnin'. It really was fun. They had silver wire, chennile in a bunch of colors, hackle in a few colors, and dubbing, and that was basically it. But they were amazingly creative with what little they had to work with. :D

That's a very realistic scene, Mark -- something that speaks beautifully to your passion in life. Now, if you happen go out and catch a pretty brown trout, will she be jealous of the brookie and make you have it lasered off? ;)
