I was wondering about that. The result is a beautiful abstract pattern. I like it. :D

Personally I like that pic better. The background is much more complimentary to the fly and allows to soft hackle to display better.

Just finished one that is a good example of a very inexpensive bead (less than a dollar clay bead in this case) being used on a somewhat ($10 each) expensive hook. The hook is by Jens Pilgaard, and i've used these clay beads on Jens' hooks before. His hooks are so unigue.....i just love 'em. i'll get a pic up sooner or later....... .....

I like both of the new tyes, and am with Vicki on preferring the "Straw Boss", although the "Blue Bullet Trane" does look to be going about 150 mph. Misa's photo of the "Phoenix" does indeed show it off to better advantage, and it doesn't hurt to have pimped the hackle a little ;) .

Misa took both pics of that fly.....and the hackle wasn't primped or pimped. The only diff in the two pics is the angle, and the background. Occassionaly i do the pic taken.........that's not often a good idea by comparison. Misa has a much steadier hand, and is much more patient. She simply also knows her camera better in terms of light usage. Glad you like the flies Bill. ;)

Brilliant colours Mark. This is a very happy fly. Kinda reminds me of the packs of assorted Lifesavers and childhood. :D

The second view gives a better look at the head (which I feel is a very important but yet underappreciated aspect of Mark's dressings), but the first has a "glow" about it that really enhances the colours Vicki has mentioned. And, as with another fairly recent fly of Mark's, I'm attracted to the "stinger hook" feature. Very cool design to my eye.
