Wow Mark that kinda looks like a science project. Maybe the solar system. Yeah the sun with a whole bunch of little planets revolving around it.

OK it's late and it was a long day at work.

Vicki ~ Like a solar system -- what a great description of Mark's "Butterfingers" display  . I sure do like the way your synapses fire ...

Mark ~ And yet another manifestation of "Fantasia". The trailing stinger is a really cool touch, and I continue to be impressed with the quality of the "minor" features on your dressings -- things like the tag wraps and butt collars that tend to get overwhelmed by the larger components unless one inspects them carefully.
Some of the same morons who throw their trash around in National parks also vote. That alone would explain the state of American politics. ~ John Gierach, "Still Life with Brook Trout"

Thanx Bill, but in all reality, i failed........"again"....... ......to do proper justice to one of Ronn Lucas' fine hooks. That's why i use them so sparingly. i never do them the justice they deserve..........oh well......just try harder next time. ;)

Thankx Ray.....this pic in no way does it justice........but that's ok. i have a few small pieces of wood round here somewhere........but i have so little space in the house........there are just hundreds and hundreds of flies everywhere...........  At this point i'm havin' to line them up on top of picture frames on the walls, where the frames are wide enough to accommodate them.......i mean it's a crack up........they're just everywhere.........i dunno what i'm gonna do at some point.....cause i aint about to stop tyin' more.......... :D Actually it's a 3,500 sq. ft. house and there is lots of space.....but it is all set up just so, and organized and designed to be easy to move around in so that everything can be enjoyed casually.......but sooner or later........pure chaos is gonna set in........

did i spell chaos right? :? .....   .....anyway, i'm working on posting the next pic.....i just took the pic.....tyed the fly last night. Let's hope i even have space left to post it the ordinary way, cause i'm WAY to tired to figure anything else out now......... :P
The fly is on an Alex Hayes hook.....(which i painted dark brown), but it's not one of his regular diameter wires.....it's one of his on the thin wire.....he does them on two different wire gauges.....these long hooks on the thinner wire are really demanding to tye on, because of the flexability of the wire itself. A lot of the work has to be done while actually holding the hook with the left hand (AND the materials in many instances), and wraping with the right hand. Think a streamer hook 25 X long. :D
sorry bout the lousey pic.....used a flash.....it's a bit washed out, and not that sharp.......oh well. i took 8 shots, tossed 6 of them and the other one i saved is without flash, yet just slightly more out of focus............

Judging by the gap, I am guessing that is "only" a size 2 hook. :D

Great fly!

Domo.........i dunno how the heck you'd measure the size of a hook like that...........i love Alex's light wire hooks, but they can be a bitch to use as they get longer and longer. Just another challange to overcome. :D Btw, the eye on this one, is antigue Ukulele string gut i got on ebay. ;)
i'm goin' to bed...........been up over 24 hours............. 8-)

Argh! I looked over my recent posts and see all kinds of incorrect words. For instance, the word "confided" should have been "consider". Lately, I have been using my Apple iTouch to check in on this site and quickly add comments. Unfortunately, the darned thing has a text correction feature, which automatically replaces words as you type. I need to take more time to proof read my posts, before hitting the submit button...
