Well, I took Bill's suggestion and tied up this fly with a gold rib. I like it so much better! I think it really works with this pattern. Plus, as Bill has said, it will look amazing in the water with this ribbing.

Very nice indeed, Paul. Ribbing not only adds some flash, but also suggests segmentation and helps define body taper.

These are excellent, ribbed or otherwise. This is a good example of how the underbody plays such a significant role in the fly design. It's really going to be prominent on this pattern. Nice tying.
