Cool fly. I have been tying lots of hoppers, beetles and ants in anticipation of fishing at Yellowstone later this month. I haven't tied any purple ones yet. ;)

Hey! There he is. Hi Ruard.

Unfortunately no outing happened this weekend. I woke up at 4am Sat not feeling well and had to cancel on my fishing buddy. Long story short...I have been able to eat 2 saltine crackers, 1 slice of toast, 2 cups of applesauce and that's it since then and it is Monday afternoon. (and no coffee for 3 days now :o ) My wife had it at exactly the same time as well. We thought food poisoning but pretty sure now the Norwalk virus hit us both at the same time (misery does love company). All I can think about is that bumper sticker "I'd rather be fishing" Still feeling symptoms today, no energy and just trying to stay hydrated.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

I hope you are feeling better soon Carl. Hopefully the kids don't pick up the bug.

Thanks. I think they are enjoying "being on their own" to some extent

Carl,
Been there, done that.
One version that we knew all too well during our years in the White Mountains of New Hampshire was giardia, which you surely know about. We used to call it the Black Spot.
First you thought you were going to die, and second, you feared that you wouldn't die. But then it passed.
We caught it from drinking water that had been contaminated upstream by deceased mammals.
Sounds like what you had was nowhere near that bad, or at least I hope not.
Good for the kids to have a longer leash for a while.

I've had giardia twice. We call it Beaver Fever for people often got it drinking downstream of beaver ponds. I grew up in a house in the backwoods of N. Idaho. We had no well just a spring for water. This was quite a bit worse than both cases. I asked my wife she said she has had it 3 times. Twice it sent her to the hospital. she agreed this was worse. I don't know what we got but...ouch. IV's were on the menu yesterday.
