Honey Dun Soft Hackle
Here are a few soft hackles that I dressed to imitate a local pale evening dun. Used some honey dun feathers that I received as a gift from a friend now living in Texas. Size 14 Daiichi 1740 hooks.

Very nice, Charlie. Perhaps one day I may know the location of said duns.
Happy new year!

Try the Colorado River at the Kemp-Breeze access right at dark. These usually hatch the same time the PMD's are coming off.
My Texas friend used to own the fly shop in downtown Longmont. He's now living in Fredricksburg, TX. No more RV living since they bought a place. You know who I mean.

Nice looking pattern, Charlie. That is some truly fine hackle.

Re: Honey Dun Soft Hackle
Charlie, I love this one. Some of my best takes this summer were to a fly just like this one. I think there is plenty of room for more research and development, but it seemed under bright skies on clear water a light, pale, dubbed soft-hackle was just the thing more often than not. Love this hackle.

Very nicely done! Has a perfect color.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Charlie,
Wow! Really nice imitations! Your style of tying has a very classic look about it! We all know that once dampened, they turn really buggy and very real looking! Your flies are destined for greatness! Have you given them a trial before a jury....of trouts?
Please keep them coming! That hackle is sublime!

Fish when you can, not when you should! Anything short of this is just a disaster.
