Hans - I have come back to look at this on my computer monitor (initially I viewed it from the small screen of my iPod). Now that I look at the fly on a larger monitor, another detail catches my attention. Did you wind the base of the jungle cock feather as a forward hackle? The effect is beautiful. Such a striking fly. The jungle cock nails are a lovely touch.

Are you fishing it in a specific water type? (lake, pond, slow moving/fast moving stream). What species do you find that has been most attracted to your pattern? Do you fish it primarily for trout?
