Hi All, Thank you for posting. He may be tying flies and listning live swinging Jazzmusic somewhere up there. Also talkinsg, what I used to discrive "Chapi, Chapi" (mark) 8-) 8-) xxxxxx :o :o :o :shock: :shock: :shock: xxxxxx xxxxx YOU DIG! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :P :P :P :P :P ;) ..... (mark)
Today I visited the fly shop next town. The shop owner reminded me that Mark visited there in the beginning of 2012 for asking some items for SOWBUG ROUNDUP's auction. Mark told him he was not well but he did not know how bad his health was. We talked abou Mark sometime. Then I bought some threads at there. Veevus threads - 16/0, 14/0 and 12/0. I hope that I will tye some flies with them and be able to post them here later.

Misako-san - I did not know the meaning of "Chapi-Chapi", so I did a quick internet search. Does this link have the same meaning, something constructed quickly?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chapi-chapi

I plan to add more to this thread in the future, to show that Mark's rings are still rippling outwards.

I used to create my own words to communicate with Mark. Such as "fortunated" which is one of Mark's favorite. "Chapi - Chapi" is one of them. It has similar meaning with "keep talking and chattering." Also, it comes from the sound of quick talking.
It is interested to know that there is a Chapi-chapi Kite in Philippine. It was once occupied by Japanese. Japanese like kites. When we were children, we used to make a couple kites during the holidays in the new year and playing with them in the park. We used to make them with very cheep materials, such as a couple bamboo sticks, very thin brown paper and/or newspaper. When we flied it in the air, the paper made some noise due to the air resistance. It sounds like chapi chapi.
I look forward to see your posts.

Thank you, Kelly, for your post. Yes. This forum was a part of our lives. He often told me what was happening when he came upstairs to eat. In a way, most of the time, he was the one who communicated to the world out there for our family. He was a very good communicator and was able to pass our passion to the others, from young to old. I hope that it keeps going on. Sincerely,

Yes, Mark was a great communicator. He also did not hold much back, if anything...lol. He told it like he saw it. Some of his little sayings always made me smile...so "Mark like"....you snooze you lose...you dig...and so forth. Mark was a rare gem in the world of fly tying. I can just see him sharing some of what was going on in the forum with you, or people he talked to. I rarely spoke with him during the day...he struck me as a pure night owl. Not many tyers I know are night owls. I am sure there never was a dull moment in the house with Mark around. I wish I had been able to spend more time talking with the both of you, when I did run into y'all at a tying event. He was such a wealth of information, and funny. But he also had a very deep side to him too. I liked how he talked about jazz music, it was another great passion for him. I imagine he played jazz and tied flies until very late. He is definitely missed around here, that is for sure. But his spirit is still with us. I am confident in that.

Like some of you, I may not into Fly Fishing without Mark's influence.
He encouraged me to tye flies, too. I used to tye flies only using natural materials. Because of Mark, I started to tye flies using or adding some new materials. Hope they will charm fish.
Here are some of tenkara caddis flies.

Misako, I love these...all 3 of them. Gorgeous work. I don't know what it is about this style, but I have a soft spot for them. They are simple, yet timeless. You hit these right on the money. LOVELY. :D

misakoflyfish, Howdy;

Misako, you have created 3 beautiful flies. Mark has taught you well.

Mark, in his usual generous nature, sent me some hooks. Within where what I believe are hooks perfect for tying Steelhead flies for my up coming trip to the Trinity River in October. I'm hoping I can do them justice with one lodged securely in the corner.
Misako, those are very nice caddis. Thanks for sharing. Nice to see your flies on this forum.
