Ruard,
As always, your pattern choices and tying are perfect! How could the salmon and trout resist your flies?
Good luck and God's speed on your trip! Please, tell us all about it when you return!

Fish when you can, not when you should! Anything short of this is just a disaster.

Oh yeah! That is as "buggy" as it gets; the dubbing mix is just wonderful, and the hackle from exactly the right spot on the bird to complete this pattern.

I can't believe that on a forum devoted to wingless flies a discussion about flies for Wales has gone on this long without at least someone mentioning the Coch-y-Bondhu.
Just sayin'.

Re: flies for wales
Maybe because others, like myself, were taught to tie them with wings! Must admit I tie them most often without nowdays, trout don't seem to mind.... but then I do not fish Wales too often either.redietz wrote:I can't believe that on a forum devoted to wingless flies a discussion about flies for Wales has gone on this long without at least someone mentioning the Coch-y-Bondhu.

Nice flies Ruard,
I do have some owl feathers (roadkill) in the barn. I'll send you some if you like.
