I really like all the kebari patterns that Roadkill is putting up. My question is: do these occupy the relatively same position in the water column that say, Wyatt's DHE would? To my mind these are DHE's with bed hair; ...that's NOT a criticism, just an observation. William, where do you envision these flies riding? I'm new to this Tenkara thing; Alan convinced me to pick up a Tiny Ten a while back, but I've not really tied for the rod yet.

Your patterns are inspiring to those of us (me) who seem to lack the necessary imagination. Thank you for sharing them.

I am glad you are enjoying the patterns.

As wet flies without the flotation of the deer hair or any floatant these should ride lower than the emerger you mentioned. Different wire ribs will also ride lower, especially bodies like the Copper Kebari. One can high stick these to keep them near the surface, or have a tight line in faster water. The simple thread bodies can also drop faster than the larger dubbed bodies especially if you keep the hackle sparse.

I will also tie up some with metal bead heads to fish deeper.
