Any Soft Hackle Skwala Patterns?

I live in Missoula. The Skwala hatch should begin soon, but I'm having trouble finding soft hackle
Skwala patterns.

Does anyone know where I can find these patterns?

Im not familiar with that exact specie, but the pteronarcy dorsata in my home waters crawl out to molt on land - you would be better off with a nymph fished shallow.

I've never had any of luck to speak of with wets for the skwala hatch. I always did better with dries, usually a small stimulator pattern. They crawl out to the bank to hatch so there really is not an emergence in the water column.

Randy, you could try this one.

I have used this pattern for years for winters tones all throughout the PNW. It works great as a wet on cast shallow under vegetation hanging over the bank. Lots of times the stones will fall into the water as they are climbing up to a spot to emerge.

I used it for the Skwala hatch as well, just adjust colors if you need to.

Maybe flymph with a semi stiff hackle to simulate any drowned adults?

Have you considered the Twitchy Chicken by FlyFIshFood.com?. Change the colors to olive, black and gray and I think it flies...as well as a Skwala can
