Many years ago i used to use a pattern for the Grannom hatch similar to the Hares Lug & Plover - as a lowly undergrad, I didn't have the funds for a Golden Plover skin so i used a well marked under covert from a Woodcock. I still haven't got the Plover Skin so I messed around with the soft hackles down the side of a Cree cape.

A suitable sub I'd say, especially if the Cree is anywhere near being as supple as plover.

Thanks gents. The Cree is quite fine compared to the plover but it is quite soft and pliable - should get a bit of movement in the faster pools.

Handsome indeed! The Cree hackle compliments the body so well.
I prize cree hackle just as much as golden plover hackle. Two of my all time favorite materials.

Great pattern! The material choice makes a very nice caddis pattern.

I could see it previously, not now. When I right-click on 'image' and try to show the photo I'm taken to another forum with this message: "Apologies! This forum is closed for essential upgrade. Back at 12.00hrs (GMT) 2nd February 2018".
