It's time to start tying some, now. You should experiment with both up eyes and down eyes and see if there is any difference in response using the same pattern.

I will. I am beginning to like the looks of them, and fully understand the reasoning behind. It's just a question of what you feel comfortable with. Success has never been my ultimate goal. I'm in it for the cosy feeling.

I am searching for an educated guess on what brand of hooks these are (see first post photo)? The only information on the box is "Stout wire wide gape hooks, size no 14". They are round wire, limerick bend, offset (or "reversed") and bronzed. Did I miss anything?. The flies come out quite nicely on them.

It's a little hard to make a guess without being able to see them up close and personal. The point, type of offset, and even the bronzing can give little clues.
