Nice looking hook, Bill. I wonder how they compare to a Daiichi 1640 in shank length/gape.

yeah, me too. I have a lot of 1640's. These just seem a little finer in the wire than 1640's, but similar. :geek:

The Daiichi 1640 has a little sneck in the bend; wonder about the Partridge ...?

Hi guys,
I hate to rain on your parade but the hook on the website is incorrect. Initially Partridge were to release these hooks as 'Sider Hooks' and Bob Smith (as a Pro Partridge tier) was supplied with some to test. The whole profile of the hook is wrong. The hook shank is far too short for a classic profile.
Now the good news is that Partridge has heeded Bob's advice (together with some other noted pro tiers) and the hook has been changed. I guess the web site has not yet been updated.
Partridge have rushed through a shipment to us so that we can re-tie all of the flies for our book on the new Partridge Spider Hooks. The profile is more like a SLD hook.
Now having said all of that, Bob likes them and I still like the profile of the Kamasan B525 (evidenced of my order this week for 1000 size 16).
The new hooks will still be out in Spring as I understand it.
