Size 14 Squirrel wets. Light and Dark.
My region is in the middle of high water. Where I can find fishable water, these and the Muskrat have been working very well.

Well done dubbing! I’ve incorporated squirrel into a brown drake dubbing, it looks pretty cool.

Very nice, Wayne. Squirrel is a favorite of mine. Two questions. Are you using a split thread technique with the squirrel? What is that rib? It has just a bit of flash, but nicely understated.

Thank you Ron. For buggy patterns I would hate to be forced to pick between Haresmask and Squirrel . I truly love them both.
No, I did not use the split thread technique on these patterns. I used a very tight dubbing noodle, then I used a toothbrush to pick out the buggy guard hairs.
The ribbing is Sulky Silver Metalic. I also use it o my Walts, and Sexy Walts nymphs.

Those look incredible, Wayne. I don't know which one I like better so I guess I'll have to tie all three.

Thanks, folks.
I always do well this time of year with these types of patterns. I throw together patterns that probably could be best described as March Brown in looks. (minus the tail on some). I do not even know if March Browns are a thing in Western Colorado, but caddis is this time of year, and these type patterns can cover lots of bases. I did not get to fish the early caddis hatches much this year, as medical appointments took priority. Thats ok. It looks like a good high-water year this Spring and I am sure there will be plenty more caddis to chase.
I have two squirrel pelts. One is a Gray the other is a Pine Squirrel. I also have Pine Squirrel in cut strips in dyed Brown, and in Olive. I think I have three different dubbings purchased from different suppliers. I also have a personal blend I threw together with Tan Ice Dub, plus another that is mixed with Hares Mask. I seriously am a squirrel nerd.
Ken here is the Sulky material I use. I do not think it makes a difference if it is Sulky or Mylar Tinsel.
