I consider the eyes to be a natural Hot Spot to include in the fly.

Start your tying thread...

Size your Zelon Yarn and post it in at the point for your eyes...

Trim the yarn tag end and cover with tying thread...

Put a twist in the yarn and prepare to tie it down near the post...

Pull the tag end to shrink the yarn down to the size you want...

Tie off and trim the yarn, taper the body and complete your fly...

Love the technique Bill. Would definitely be something to play with for cripples and emerged duns in the surface or spinners. I don't think you would see it on actively emerging insects under the surface. But, it would still be a good technique for a hotspot.
