Red Fox Belly Soft Hackles

Post by joaniebo » Thu Oct 21, 2021 5:20 pm

Found this old pic of a drssing that I did in 2010 for a friend. I had tied a few "on a lark" and he tried them one day while we were fishing. He had so many hits, he wouldn't; fish anything else that day. Gave hime all that I tied .... he was one happy camper!

Fancy! I like them. I’d be tempted to fish them with an active retrieve, like a live insect. It looks very lively.

;) Some times bling is the thing. I would also tie some without the flash and compare fish response with both on the line.

Bob,
Pretty spiffy looking patterns indeed! I like the flash material as a wing! You can't go wrong with Red Fox belly fur on most patterns! Very masterfully tied by the way! I think this pattern would be particularly effective in swift waters/riffles!

Fish when you can, not when you should! Anything short of this is just a disaster.
