Re: Tying Station Design...Layout
Aftersome difficulty accessing my e-mail, here's some looks at Narcodog's tying area. I must admit, I like the looks of it , except that it's far too neat.
Sorry about the delay Narco. Now about a couple of those reels.....

Ron, thanks.
All but one of those reels has silk line on them. Oh I also have a couple more that are laying around somewhere.

Narcodog the silk line comment got me wondering. Have you or anyone here ever used silk line on a glass rod? I'd be interested in hearing the casting results as opposed to today's plastic coated lines.

JG, I have not but you know that fiberglass was brought out before the coated nylon was perfected. So I would think that there should be no problem. You would just have to find the correct weight line to use just as you would do with any old rod. One of those lines hanging there is an uncoated nylon form the late forties, early fifties.

Jerry G, Howdy;
Only thing that comes to my mind is to be careful with silk passing quickly over fiberglass, you might end up getting a shock (static build-up).

That should not be a problem as it has to be coated with red tin Muclin.hankaye wrote:Jerry G, Howdy;
